## Addition Operator

The addition operator can be used to perform the addition of two numbers, or it can be used to join two strings, also known as string concatenation.

The working of this operator is based on the [ApplyStringOrNumericBinaryOperator](https://tc39.es/ecma262/multipage/ecmascript-language-expressions.html#sec-applystringornumericbinaryoperator). The way this works is that if any or both operands are non-primitive values, they are converted into primitive values using the `ToPrimitive` abstract operation, and no preferred type is specified. As a result, the "number" is the preferred type in this case because that is the default behavior of the `ToPrimitive` abstract operation.
