Time to set up the foundation for the frontend. We will use 

$ cd services
$ npm create vite@latest frontend

This will create a React app for you. Go to the new folder, install the dependencies and try out your new app:

$ cd frontend
$ npm install
$ npm run dev

Vite sets up two typescript configuration files. One is for building the bundle and the other one is for when Vite is running. Like before, you want to reference your root 

 file. Add the reference line to the top of the

We'll also install Tailwind CSS which you will be using for styling, and which in turn requires PostCSS and autoprefixer:

$ npm i -D tailwindcss postcss autoprefixer
$ npx tailwindcss init -p

This creates a postcss.config.cjs and a tailwind.config.cjs file for you. Modify the tailwind config file to monitor your files:

  theme: {
    extend: {},
  },
  plugins: [],

 extensions here, which you might not need if you are going to use TypeScript only. The configuration tells Tailwind which files to look for classes in. It's important to note that Tailwind uses the 

 patterns to determine which files contain references to any of its classes. So, if you use a Tailwind class from a file that isn't included, the class might not be defined when you open the page. Now, this is a quite confusing bug and it can be difficult to realize what the root cause is. For that reason, I tend to cover Javascript files as well, just in case there is one somewhere.

Now you can add the Tailwind CSS styles to your app. Open the 

 file and replace the contents with these three lines:

@tailwind base;
@tailwind components;
@tailwind utilities;

 and open the app in your browser, you should see a nice sans-serif, indigo-colored "Hello, world!".

## Frontend

Time to set up the foundation for the frontend. We will use [Vite](https://vitejs.dev/) to set it up.

```bash
$ cd services
$ npm create vite@latest frontend
```

This will create a React app for you. Go to the new folder, install the dependencies and try out your new app:
