## Emulating HTMLInputElement

In previous sections, you declared getters and setters for `required`, `disabled`, and `value` and used `observedAttributes` to watch for changes to these attributes on `TextInputComponent`, but what about the rest of the attributes usually provided by `HTMLInputElement` that are still missing on `TextInputComponent`? Since the input element is encapsulated by Shadow DOM, it's not easily accessible from the outside world. Developers could access the input element using the `$input` property, but things could get out of sync between `TextInputComponent` and `HTMLInputElement` fairly quickly.

It's a fairly safe bet to assume that state is managed by `HTMLInputElement` because it does a lot of heavy lifting, providing attributes and properties that handle fairly complex problems. Setting `pattern` on `HTMLInputElement`, for instance, allows the developer to ensure the value of the input matches `RegExp`, while `list` allows developers to specify the `id` of a `<datalist>` element that contains autocomplete options. Without `HTMLInputElement`, you'd have to figure out how to implement some of these complex features. When coding form-associated custom elements, it makes a lot of sense to reuse behaviors of existing inputs, even if it means the input is completely hidden from the view, like you will see in later chapters when you develop `CheckBoxComponent`.

Ensure that `TextInputComponent` has many of the same features of `HTMLInputElement` by implementing the same attributes, getters, and setters that are also provided by an input element where type is equal to `text`.

Update `observedAttributes` to listen for changes on several attributes usually found on `HTMLInputElement`.
